HTC'S DAN KUPIEC PRESENTED WITH THE PRODUCTS UNSUNG HERO AWARD
The NISH East Region NCWC was held in Arlington, VA on November 7th-9th. HTC's Dan Kupiec, Director of Procurement and Customer Service, was awarded the Products Unsung Hero Award. Below is the nomination that was submitted by Greg Frank, Chief Operating Officer. Dan is responsible for our federal procurement budget for material, hardware, components, and finished goods which totals $4.1M, and is forecasted to increase to nearly $7.0M in 2013. In addition, Dan provides hands-on leadership to our Customer Service department, which fields calls from over 16,000 federal employees annually. The majority of his focus is on federal uniform programs, a growing business model within AbilityOne. Much of the success of these programs can be attributed to Dan’s responsiveness to our AbilityOne customer’s needs, and his skills in developing a strong network of suppliers and an impressive portfolio of product offerings. In total, HTC’s Purchasing Department plans and procures over 7,200 items. With contractual obligations to ship customer orders within three days of receipt, it is imperative that inventory is tightly managed to ensure the right products in the right quantities are in stock at the right time. Despite an increasingly complex and dynamic federal uniform program environment, Dan has effectively managed the year-over-year 40% growth rate in a cost-effective manner which has helped HTC earn positive reviews from contracting officers and employees within the contracting agencies. His efforts have helped HTC create and retain 26 FTE positions for people with significant disabilities in customer service, warehouse, manufacturing, and order fulfillment. Dan’s character is impeccable, his dedication to our mission genuine, and his responsiveness to the needs of all customers- both external and internal- has become the gold standard within our organization. We are extremely fortunate to have him on our staff. Congratulations, Dan. Thanks for making an impact!
