Located on a former hop farm in Cooperstown, N.Y., Brewery Ommegang is one of America’s most unique microbreweries. It produces award-winning seasonal and year-round beers, and, in just 10 years, has become known throughout the country for its quality.
It was this success that led Ommegang to HTC.
With minimal storage space and its workforce already devoted to brewing its one-of-a-kind beers, Ommegang needed assistance assembling and storing gift packs and sample packs of beer. “So we listened to what their needs were and developed processes that really helped them to do their job better,” said Bob Payne, vice president of manufacturing and operations for HTC.
The packaging and assembly staff at HTC began assembling the promotional packs of beer, with the work being done entirely by people with disabilities. Ommegang was so pleased with the service that it went on to enlist the help of Supply Chain Logistics to ship online orders of Ommegang T-shirts, mugs and other promotional items to customers around the country. HTC also began shipping promotional items ordered by Ommegang’s national sales representatives directly to the representative at locales across the nation. “Our goal is always to develop a solution that is easy for the customer,” Payne said. “It has to be easy for them to do business with us.”
